Road to C.I.M - Intro

Hey Guys!

My name is Yann Le Maitre and I have recently joined the Run Your Personal Best Team. Over the following weeks I will be sharing bits and pieces of my experience working with Cory, on my journey to the California International Marathon (C.I.M) in December.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a twenty-seven year old, French -American citizen living in Santa Barbara, CA. I started running three years ago as a way to kick my butt out of depression and get a grip on my life. I was a college dropout with anxiety issues and a tendency for substance abuse. I ended up enrolling at the local community college and joining the track team. My personal and school life have done a full 180 since - I am now 9 units away from graduating with a Bachelors degree and a 4.0 GPA. I’ve gone from running a 6:54 min/mile at my fastest to averaging 6:54 min/mi pace on my last half marathon. I can honestly say that running changed my life. I am now attending Antioch University. I have steered away from college athletics and changed my focus towards Law School. Nevertheless, running will always be part of my life.

With new challenges coming ahead I have set some goals for my immediate and long term futur. Running a marathon has been a lifelong dream of mine, and qualifying for Boston would be epic. Contemplating my options, I knew I would need some support. Running is an individual sport, but you can’t do it all on your own. For this, I am happy that I chose to work with Cory. He’ll be there to push me, support me and, set me on the right track for success. He’ll cater my training to meet my needs and help keep me accountable. Along with my training, I am excited to share my Road to C.I.M with you guys. I will journal my training, share my ups and down, and post my articles on the Run Your Personal Best Blog!
